Takeoff (real name Kirshnik Khari Ball) was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:30 am Houston time (8:30 am CET). A still unknown attacker also shot two other people in the bowling building, who were taken to hospital.
Takeoff was born in Georgia, USA in 1994. With his uncle and cousin, nicknamed Quavo and Offset, they founded the band Polo Club.
In 2011 they released their debut album Juug Season already under the name Migos, writes The Guardian. The rap trio’s first mainstream hit was composition 2013 Versace.
Houston police spokesman John Cannon refused to release the identity of the shooting victim to reporters after the shooting at the bowling center until his family was informed of the death. However, the US media has already identified the victim as Takeoff.
