“Austin” is a 5yr old, 15.3hh, Belgian/QH cross gelding. Want to turn heads wherever you go? This handsome, kind gelding has a little bit of everything to offer!! Austin is a fun, quiet, athletic boy, who wants to give you the world! Austin is amateur friendly, with potential to go in every single direction!
In the barn, Austin has no bad habits. He can go out with a mixed herd, and can live in, or out. He is gentle to work around, and can be handled by kids and beginners. Austin stands on the cross ties to be tacked, bathed, groomed, etc. He is gentle with picking up his hooves, and he has great ground manners! Austin doesn’t care about dogs running past him on the cross ties, or commotion in the isle way. He enjoys a gentle hand, and receiving attention and love. He is a sweet boy, and wants to be your best friend. He adores children, and lowers his head to get pets.
Austin is a trail machine! He will lead, follow, go out alone and in groups. He loves a fun adventure, and goes anywhere you point! Up and down banks, through the water, over logs, you ask and he goes. He is not a clumsy crossbred. He is cautious of the footing and aware of his surroundings. He would make a fantastic hunt horse!! Austin is safe with dogs running by his feet, and doesn’t care about them popping out of the bushes and being rowdy. Drop your reins and have a relaxing trail ride. This boy has also been camping! He has nice big sturdy hooves for rough terrain. He is beginner safe on the trails and will follow the group anywhere. Austin crosses water, bridges, rocks, logs, and enjoys playing in the water. He would make a great husband or guest horse!
Austin rides western, english and bareback. He has extremely comfortable gaits. His canter is uphill and very balanced especially for a horse his size!! His trot is smooth, and rhythmic. Austin is currently trained equally in both western and english, and set up to head in absolutely any direction!
In the ring, Austin is athletic, and agile. He will walk, trot, canter, and knows his leads. He is started on a lead change as well! Austin will ride collected, or on the buckle. He is learning to leg yield, and bend. Under english tack, you can push him up into the bridle and ask for an english style collection. Under western tack, you can give him a bump and he will bring his nose down and stretch out! This boy is very intelligent and wants to please you! He is a beautiful mover and would excel in dressage, classical or western. He has a beautiful, floaty trot. Austin has been used for lessons and took care of a beginner child, he loved her! He was extra gentle with her, and took good care of her.
Austin will pop over fences and has really cute form! He is not a clunky boy, he picks his knees up, and he is careful. He could have a future in low level eventing!
Have you dreamed of riding your horse in a war bridle? Austin loves a war bridle!! He will go around happy as could be showing off his lack of bridle.
Austin will pivot, back up, and knows the word “whoa”. You can bring his western side out, and ask for a big stop. He has potential to participate in ranch riding/ trail classes, he has been shown in ranch sorting. He will push a cow, chase a cow, stop a cow, and he is a fun horse for someone just getting into sorting! He is the same horse at shows/off property as on. He does not need to be a routine, you can ride him 5 days in a row or let him sit for two weeks, he doesn’t mind either way. He ties to the trailer quietly at shows. Austin self loads into the trailer, open the door and give him the lead rope, right on he goes! He backs off of the trailer nicely as well. He can trailer alone or with others. Here is a really cool, versatile horse!!!
Austin is not broke to drive, and has not been driven. He is safe with tarps, flags, balls, and can take a joke.
Austin is barefoot, with no maintenance, no supplements, and no special requirements. He has zero soundness or health issues. He is an easy keeper.
Here is a young, well rounded horse, that is ready to go in any direction. He has been so much fun to bring along. He is such a smart horse who is willing to learn.
