American presenter and actor Regis Philbin (88) passed away | NOW

American presenter and actor Regis Philbin died at the age of 88. Philbin would turn 89 next month.

His family leaves the American entertainment magazine People to be thankful for the time they spent with him.

“He could make something out of every day that would make you talk about it for a long time.” The family also thanks all the fans and admirers who have supported him for the past sixty years.

Philbin started his career in the early 1960s. He climbed up through roles in television series and movies and got a national talk show in 1988; Live! with Regis and Kathie Lee, which he presented with Kathie Lee Grifford. Philbin continued to work for the program in varying line-up until 2011.

In 2004 he received a mention of Guinness World Record, after having appeared on television for a total of 15,188 hours.

Philbin married twice and left four children.
