The electric F-150 Lightning received several factory modifications to become the F-150 Lightning Pro SSV, which stands for Special Service Vehicle.

The vehicle received a number of modifications. It has a protective frame on the front bumper, warning LED beacons on the roof and police livery.

Inside, the seats are upholstered in highly durable fabric and have lowered side rails to make it easier for officers with gun holsters to get in and out of the vehicle.

The rear seats differ in vinyl upholstery, which is easier to clean, as is the vinyl floor. The dashboard features a 12-inch digital instrument cluster and 12-inch SYNC4 infotainment touchscreen, along with a reinforced upper dash compartment designed to accommodate additional police equipment.

Standard features also include a semi-autonomous driving suite or a system for data collection and simplified fleet management.

In addition to the rear body with an on-board generator, officers can also use the bow with a cargo area of 400 liters and an additional 220-amp direct current source.

According to Ford, the special is designed to “handle the department’s specialized needs outside of pursuit situations, such as assisting at an accident or crime scene or providing the ability to tow a boat or trailer.”

The automaker offers an electric pickup for the police in two specifications, each with two electric motors. The first has an output of 337 kW, 458 hp, the second 432 kW, 588 hp. The standard range per charge is 370 and 480 km, respectively.
