According to the publication, the equipment was delivered to the German port of Bremergafen by the vessel Arc Integrity. During unloading, journalists spotted M2A2 Bradley armored vehicles, AN / TWQ-1 Avenger mobile air defense systems and M88A2 Hercules armored recovery vehicles. Also noted were all-wheel drive military vehicles HMMWV, which the United States supplies to Ukraine on an ongoing basis.
This is part of a $2.85 billion US military aid deal announced earlier this year.
On February 5, the US Transportation Command demonstrated the loading of the ship from the port of Charleston in North Carolina. Earlier it was reported that the vessel was transporting 60 units of Bradley. In general, Ukraine should receive 109 of these infantry fighting vehicles.
The mil.in.ua portal reminds that Ukraine should receive M2 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles in the M2A2 ODS (Operation Desert Storm) version, developed on the basis of the experience that the United States gained during the Iraq war in 1991 (Operation Desert Storm) ).
Also, for the first time, Ukraine will receive AN / TWQ-1 Avenger mobile anti-aircraft missile systems, made on the chassis of the HMMWV SUV. The complex is designed to destroy air targets at altitudes of 0.5-3.8 km and at ranges of 0.5-5.5 km.
