At the Mayakovskaya metro station in Moscow, a man beat up American John-Mark Dugan. This was announced today, April 18, by law enforcement agencies.
“The American John-Mark Dugan contacted the police and said that he was beaten by an unknown person. The verbal conflict between the men took place in the subway car, and ended in a brawl at the Mayakovskaya station, which was started by an unknown person. He hit the American several times.” — said the police.
The reason for the conflict, which escalated into a fight, is not called.
“Police officers quickly identified and prosecuted the perpetrator. This matter is under investigation.” added a law enforcement official.
According to him, the participants in the incident did not require medical assistance.
John-Mark Dugan is a native of Delaware. He is a former Marine, a US police officer who applied for political asylum in Russia in 2016 after being persecuted by the FBI. Currently, the American lives in Moscow, is engaged in journalism.
