After a decline of 2.1% in July, orders to American industry increased by 1.2% in August, according to figures published by the Department of Commerce.
For their part, deliveries by American industry increased for the 4th consecutive month, at +1.3% in August. Finally, as inventories increased by 0.3%, the inventory-to-delivery ratio fell slightly, from 1.47 in July to 1.46 in August.
