“American Horror Story: NYC”, an eleventh season in the heart of New York – rts.ch

Lovers of Christmas films and series, go your way! “American Horror Story” gives pride of place to miscellaneous facts, urban legends and paranormal stories, mixing fear, psychological imbalance, gore, sex, taboos of society and political correctness. And the eleventh season, which takes place in New York, is no exception to the rule.

The plot takes place in 1981, we follow the wanderings of Gino Barelli, a local journalist who is investigating a series of particularly atrocious murders targeting the gay community. At the same time, another gay man, Sully, disappears without a trace. His roommate Adam will team up with a renowned New York photographer in the industry to try to find him. For her part, Doctor Hannah Wells sees her patients being contaminated by an unknown virus that deer have caught on Fire Island. These three parallel and distinct stories will finally come together, as the ten episodes of the series progress.

The 80s in the United States, the gay community and an unknown virus, references to AIDS are numerous in this eleventh season. A theme already widely treated on screen, but the well-mastered suspense, the brilliant cast and the expression of tenderness in the horror of the series end up seducing. In the end, the gore is supplanted by the plight of the men who died in pitiful sanitary conditions and extreme loneliness.
