The patient complained of breathing problems that lasted for several years. As it turned out, the problem was caused by the ectopic tooth.
Surgeons at the Mount Sinai Medical Complex in New York found a tooth in a patient’s nose. An article describing a rare case was published in the journal New England Journal of Medicine.-
It is noted that a 38-year-old man went to the hospital with complaints of shortness of breath in the right nostril, which caused him inconvenience for the past few years.
On examination, the doctors discovered a curvature of the septum, as well as a small seal deep in the nostril. Computed tomography showed that the patient has an ectopic (grown in the wrong place) tooth in the nose.
Surgeons successfully operated on the man and extracted a 14 mm tooth. It is emphasized that three months after the operation, the patient had no complaints.
