World record broken! The 44-year-old American gourmet Joshua Fyksen spent 4 months in order to break the world record of eating 18 Michelin restaurants in 24 hours set by Eric Finkelstein in 2022. He made a plan and successfully broke the record a few days ago, eating at 22 restaurants in total. Fixon also revealed the amount spent and planning method for this luxury experience.

According to the “Guinness Book of World Records”, when Fixson learned about the record set by Finkelstein, he immediately began research and preparation of the plan. It took four months for the plan to be officially released. “I have been a lover of good food for a long time and often dine in Michelin-starred restaurants,” Fixon said, emphasizing that “this is a record I was born to break.”

Fickerson also revealed how he formulated his plan by first listing all the Michelin-starred restaurants in New York, 72 in total, and then he compiled a list of restaurants with a la carte menus so he didn’t waste time eating the entire meal. Set menu, then he formulated a route, and each restaurant was only allocated 15 minutes. After deducting restaurants that were in inconvenient locations and refused to participate, he left the final 22 restaurants.

He started his mission at 2:30 pm on May 25. He first ordered a tuna pancake with avocado and radish worth $25 (approximately NT$805) in Brooklyn, and then went to Manhattan to eat. Some Spanish tomato bread, and then he visited some Korean restaurants, European-style beer halls, etc. He successfully completed the task at 2:21 pm the next day.

As for the total cost, Fickerson said that after tax and tips, he spent a total of US$593 (approximately NT$18,464) on food during this mission.
