Sparta has already confirmed its sixth summer acquisition, its offensive ranks will be strengthened by American forward Josh Kestner. The Prague club announced his arrival on its website.

“After leaving

David Tomasek

attacker, 27 years old

” href=” We were looking for an adequate replacement for Tomášek and a player with a difference. Together with the management, we selected Josh in detail and we are glad that we managed to complete his arrival,” reveals the head of Sparta’s sports department, Tomáš Divíšek.

“We believe he will become our leader.”

The 29-year-old Kestner went through the university NCAA across the ocean, briefly worked in the AHL and shone in the lower ECHL, where he first celebrated the title with the Newfoundland Growlers team, and a year later in the Toledo jersey he dominated scoring (33+40) and won the award for the league’s most valuable player.

He went to Europe three years ago. In TPS, he followed up on the previous successful season in terms of points, collecting a great 30 goals and 29 assists in 72 matches. It was also thanks to his contributions that Turku won the silver, and with his performances, he also claimed inclusion in the All-Star selection.

In the last two years, he did not have such perfect statistics. He spent the 2021/22 season in the KHL, scoring only 15 points (5+10) in 37 games in Vladivostok. Last year he returned to Finland, where he scored 54 starts and 27 points with a balance of 11+16 in the colors of Rauma.

Now he will add a fourth season abroad, he will try the extra league for the first time. “Josh is an excellent scorer and power play player with more potential than he has shown the last two seasons. We believe that he will become our leader,” adds Divíšek to the attacking reinforcement.
