American football – Mayr resigns as president of the Broncos

City football fans and even day-trippers passing the Weidlinger Presslerwiese will have noticed this very clearly over the past couple of years.

There has been a breath of fresh air in Klosterneuburg since Thomas Mayr took over the presidency. Mayr, who took over the management position with the Broncos about two years ago, has delivered new equipment, attracted numerous first-class coaches and a bevy of sponsors. Now the president is retiring from the Broncos for personal reasons.

“I don’t want to make the reasons for retiring public. Ultimately, it’s my family that comes first.” Mayr evaluates his time as president very positively: “They were two very tiring years, but they were a great success for the organisation. We made great progress, which was only possible because the board and I worked a lot on the club.” “.

Mayr sees the loan deal with the city of Klosterneuburg as the greatest success of his time as chairman: “With Broncos Field, the club has a really stable location and the basis for long-term development.”

Mayr wishes his successors every success: “We have made great progress together because everyone has come together. I wish the club to be able to continue on this path in the future.”

Now it’s the turn of vice-president Christine Braunsperger, who knows the club like the back of her hand. The Broncos held a board meeting earlier this week to discuss the future.

“We are very grateful to Tom for his work over the past few years. Nothing will change in the club as a result of this change. The coaches are still all aboard and training and game operations will continue in usual form,” said Braunsperger.
