American Football: First leg in Neuss prepares for exciting final in Bocholt

Reading time approx. 2 min.

In a showdown between the two previously unbeaten teams in the NRW league, the American football players from TSV Bocholt defeated the Neuss Legions 22-12. The team took an early lead with a touchdown from Jannik Strauß, but Neuss was able to quickly counter with a strong passing attack. After mistakes by the Neuss attack, the Rhinos were able to control the game for the time being with three field goals from Youri Üffing.

The touchdown from Neuss was later countered with the final touchdown pass from Luke Klein-Hitpaß to Youri Üffing, and so the Rhinos now go into the last two games as league leaders. Next Sunday the Rhinos will host Windeck Giborim at 3 p.m. on their home sports field on Hemdener Weg. The Windeckers were clearly defeated 45:00 in the first leg. Nevertheless, Head Coach Marcel Seidel warns: “We are a young team. We will prepare for Windeck just as thoroughly as we prepared for Neuss.

There is no reason for us to slow down.” After over 300 spectators came to experience the fascination of American football at the home game premiere in May, the Rhinos are of course hoping for active support for the last two home games. The final against the Neuss Legions will take place on Sunday, September 29th at 3 p.m. Here, as in a real final, it will be about promotion to the NRW regional league. The Neuss Legions will certainly arrive highly motivated and want to take revenge for the home defeat.

Here too, the Rhinos are counting on loud support. Admission on both days is €2, reduced €1. Children under 14 have free admission.
