Detroit (dpa) – German NFL football professionals again have to contend with frustrating results with their teams.
The Detroit Lions around Amon-Ra St. Brown lost a 14-point lead against the Miami Dolphins and lost 27:31. His brother Equanimeous St. Brown suffered a 29-49 defeat with the Chicago Bears at the Dallas Cowboys. And the Las Vegas Raiders with Stuttgart’s Jakob Johnson didn’t even have points at 0:24 against the New Orleans Saints. It was the fifth defeat of the season for the Bears and the Raiders and the sixth in seven games for the Lions.
The Philadelphia Eagles, on the other hand, took their seventh win in their seventh win and remain the only undefeated team in the National Football League. At 35:13 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, quarterback Jalen Hurts threw four powerful touchdown passes and missed the ball.
The Lions took a 14-0 early lead over quarterback Tua Tagovailoa’s Dolphins and were still ten points clear at half-time. In the second half, however, only the guests from Florida scored. Tagovailoa had three touchdown passes in the second game after his concussion. St. Brown received seven passes from Lions quarterback Jared Goff for a total of 69 yards.
The Bears returned at 11:35 am after 7:28 am and then went wrong and scored a touchdown against themselves. After the Bears lost possession, Cowboys pro Micah Parsons grabbed the ball and fell. Because no Bears pro touched him during the match – Bears quarterback Justin Fields even jumped on top of him and avoided contact – he was able to get up and carry the ball into the end zone. The Chicago team never recovered from that.
22:17 for the New England Patriots against the New York Jets was the 325th NFL victory of Bill Belichick’s coaching career. He is now the only number two on the list of most successful managers, including playoff wins. In first place is Don Shula with 347 victories.
