The National Football League (NFL) will be playing two more games in Germany this year. While the place and time of the games are still open, two teams have already been determined: the six-time Super Bowl champion New England Patriots and the Kansas City Chiefs, partners of FC Bayern, are celebrating their German debut. Munich and Frankfurt are possible venues for the encounters. Last November, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with superstar Tom Brady and the Seattle Seahawks played a regular NFL season game in Germany for the first time in Munich. “Interest in our game is at an all-time high around the world and we look forward to returning to the UK and Germany in 2023 with some of the NFL’s most iconic clubs and stars,” said Peter O’Reilly, Executive Vice President of the NFL. There will be five games in total outside of the US. In addition to the Chiefs and Patriots games in Germany, the Buffalo Bills, Tennessee Titans and Jacksonville Jaguars will play matches in London. The opponents have not yet been determined. The first NFL encounter in Munich had led to a huge demand for tickets. A seven-digit number of interested parties is said to have applied for the 67,000 tickets in Munich. Fans can now at least make a reservation for the upcoming games.
