American commandos trained our territorials (photos)

Our territorials have undergone training especially in “black tactics”, i.e. fighting in closed rooms (buildings, trains, cars, etc.)

– Under the supervision of American instructors, soldiers of the 2nd LBOT practiced, among others, operation in the area temporarily taken over by the enemy, methods of approaching and assaulting the object, penetration, reconnaissance and ways of searching and moving inside buildings. They also practiced preparing and carrying out ambushes for columns of vehicles. The lessons showed how important teamwork and good communication are in this type of activities – says Lieutenant Marta Gaborek, press officer of 2 LBOT. – Using the knowledge and experience of American instructors, they also practiced pre-medical aid on the battlefield, including during shelling and evacuation of the wounded. An important element of the training were classes on Javelin anti-tank guided missile trainers. The soldiers got acquainted with the construction and operation of the launcher and learned the practical operation of the Javelin ATGM. The use of simulators made it possible to practice various tactical scenarios that may appear on the real battlefield – he adds.

The exercises, organized by the 25th Zamość Light Infantry Battalion, took place at military facilities and public utility facilities in the Zamość district. In addition to the territorials, soldiers from the 21st Podhale Rifle Brigade also took part in the training. At the end, as part of the summary and test of the acquired skills, the training group was tasked with storming the object occupied by the enemy. – Soldiers had to analyze the situation, plan and carry out actions, e.g. such as: camouflage, issuing insurance, covert approach, capturing a building by assault, isolation, searching, fighting in the building, eliminating the enemy, and supplying and evacuating the wounded. Finally, the American instructors conducted a task performance analysis.
