American boxer free after sex-induced positive doping test NOW

American boxer Virginia Fuchs was acquitted on Thursday after she tested positive at a doping control. According to anti-doping agency USADA, the banned substances entered her body after sex with her boyfriend.

Fuchs, 32, tested positive for two metabolites on the doping list on February 13. “The low amount of letrozole metabolite and GW1516 metabolite correspond to substances that can be transmitted through sexual contact,” USADA said in a statement.

Fuchs’s friend used therapeutic agents containing the two metabolites. The doping watchdog does not blame Fuchs for the fact that the substances got into her body through sexual contact.

Fuchs managed to qualify for the postponed Olympic Games in Tokyo after narrowly missing out on participating in the Rio de Janeiro Games four years ago.

“This has been an important lesson for me,” she wrote on Twitter. “Now that this case is over, I will fully focus on Tokyo.
