San José, Aug 20 (Epaís.cr) .- Tourism Minister Gustavo Segura announced today that American Airlines will inaugurate new direct routes between Chicago and the Juan Santamaría and Daniel Oduber airports in Costa Rica on November 2.
In a video released on social networks, Segura specified that the Chicago-San José flights will arrive at the Juan Santamaría international terminal on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays and will depart back to the capital of the US state of Illinois on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
For his part, he continued, the Chicago-Guanacaste flight will arrive and depart on Saturdays.
«This news continues to fill us with hope that the gradual process, but which is gaining more and more strength than the recovery in the arrival of tourists to Costa Rica, is on the right track, especially with a view to the next high season, which is just it starts at the end of November, ”Segura highlighted.
Official data from the Costa Rican Tourism Institute (ICT) show that Chicago is fourth in the list of the 10 US cities with the largest number of potential tourists with high interest in traveling to Costa Rica, only below New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
Regarding the vacationers of that American city, Segura explained that they are high-income, interested in nature tourism and relevant experiences of well-being with sustainable and healthy gastronomy, therefore it will reinforce the recovery of tourism employment in which the ICT is engaged.
