(AOF) – Several American airlines are expected to decline in pre-market on Wall Street after the American Department of Transport announced on Wednesday that their Chinese counterparts would be authorized to increase their passenger transport services to the United States until to 12 weekly round trips, the same number of flights as that authorized by Beijing for American companies. This is an increase from the eight weekly return flights currently permitted, but well below the pre-Covid level.
This remains a small fraction of the more than 150 return flights allowed by both sides before restrictions were imposed in early 2020 due to the Covid-19 virus pandemic.
