The American airline American Airlines will open a new route that will connect Santiago and New York. It is a direct flight (nonstop), with an approximate duration of 12 hours.
This new itinerary will start operating from May 7, 2021, with a first trip from New York. The new service will have three weekly frequencies with the Boeing 777-200.
“This is the first step in delivering the best customer proposition with the largest network in New York and Boston,” said Vasu Raja, American Airlines Director of Revenue.
The executive announced that “in the coming months we will continue to create a unique and expeditious experience for new clients, in order to support our communities and generate greater growth for our team.”
The new Santiago – New York flights of American Airlines They will be available for purchase from February 22.
In addition to the aforementioned new route to New York American will connect Chile with different cities in the United States. Among them, the daily direct flights from Dallas / Fort Worth and Miami.
American Airlines and JetBlue codeshare
The announcement coincides with the implementation of a codeshare agreement with JetBlue for the northeastern United States.
This type of alliance will allow American Airlines passengers to access 49 routes operated by JetBlue, and at the same time, the travelers of said airline will be able to fly to more than 25 AA destinations.
As with all codeshare flights marketed by American, members of the AAdvantage frequent flyer program can earn miles when purchasing.
Airlines expect to start codeshare sales on the new international routes soon, American said in a statement.
