Faced with competition, companies American Airlines et JetBlue Airways strengthen their joint offer on departure from New York. Both carriers offer their “Northeast Alliance” departing from the three New York airports of JFK, LaGuardia and Newark. The La Guardia platform is however the first beneficiary of the new features for the summer of 2023 with around ten new destinations.
The Northeast Alliance thus offers nearly 300 daily departures from New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK), notably serving 49 of the 50 largest air markets in the world in 2023. In New York’s three main airports, the Northeast Alliance will offer a total of more than 500 daily departures next year.
“Providing more choice to customers is a core part of the Northeast Alliance,” said Anmol Bhargava, American vice president of global alliances and partnerships. From New York-La Guardia, American Airlines and JetBlue offer a network of 45 domestic destinations.
From May 5, American will launch new services to several new destinations from La Guardia. It is Birmingham (Alabama), Buffalo (New York), Columbia (Caroline du Sud), Grand Rapids (Michigan), Greenville (Caroline du Sud) et Knoxville (Tennessee). The carrier is also resuming its seasonal summer service to Asheville, North Carolina.
On his side, JetBlue launches four new routes from LaGuardia to Atlanta (ATL), Hyannis (Massachusetts) Nassau in the Bahamas and Bermuda. It also takes over service to Montego Bay in Jamaica from Newark and introduces its Mint business product between Newark and Aruba.
Moreover, from France, American Airlines has just added additional frequencies on Paris-Dallas Fort Worth and relaunched the line in June Paris CDG-Charlottediscontinued in 2019. The carrier is also taking over the Frankfurt-Charlotte and London Heathrow-Seattle route.
