american actor Sean Penn He has become one of the protagonists of the last few hours after having revealed his recent visit to Ukraine precisely because of the outbreak of war and the invasion of Russia. The Ukrainian government itself has communicated through its social networks the presence of the actor with a professional reason, and that is that he has decided to travel to the conflict zone to record a documentary about Russia’s attacks on Ukraine.
Arrived in Kiev this past Thursday
“The director came to Kiev specifically to record all the events taking place in Ukraine as a documentary filmmaker and to tell the world the truth about Russia’s invasion of our country. Today, Sean Penn is among those who support Ukraine in Ukraine. Our country thanks you for such a show of courage and honesty”, they have expressed in a statement through the EFE Agency.
As has been known in recent hours, the North American filmmaker is focused on this conflict from which he hopes to produce an audiovisual project and for this reason in recent hours he has accompanied the Ukrainian president, Volodimir Zelenski, in one of his press conferences: “Sean Penn demonstrates courage that many others lack, including Western politicians. The more people who come to our country now, as true friends of Ukraine, who support the fight for freedom, the sooner it will be possible to stop Russia’s treacherous attack.”
It is not the first time that Sean Penn has visited Ukraine, since he last November he was recording a documentary about Donbas, being photographed in military clothing. The American actor, in addition to his extensive career in Hollywood, is known for turning to humanitarian causes and recording documentaries about these moments, as happened with the earthquake in Haiti in 2010 and his documentary about it, ‘Citizen Penn’.
