American actor Ryan O’Neal has died at the age of 82. In 2001, the actor was diagnosed with a form of leukemia. The actor was known for his roles in Love Story and Paper Moon.
O’Neal’s son shared the news in a Instagram report.
“As a human being, my father was as generous as can be,” writes his son Patrick. He also calls his father “the funniest person” he knew.
“And clearly the most handsome, but also the most charming. He loved to make people laugh. He really wanted to make us laugh. And we all laughed. Every time. We had fun.”
O’Neal was known for his roles in Love Story (1970), Paper Moon (1973), and What’s Up, Doc? (1972). In the latter he was seen together with Barbra Streisand. He also acted with her in The Main Event.
The actor was nominated for an Oscar in the Best Actor category for his role in Love Story. He appeared with his daughter Tatum in Paper Moon.
He was best known to the general public for his role as Rodney Harrington in the soap opera Peyton Place.
