American actor Cuba Gooding Jr has admitted to forcing a waitress to kiss him at a New York nightclub in 2018. His lawyer announced this on Wednesday in the context of a court case in which other complaints against him were rejected.

Gooding Jr, 54, was arrested nearly three years ago after a woman accused him of touching her breast without consent at a New York club. There were further allegations of unwanted touching against the actor, two of which also led to prosecutions.
Frank Rothman, Gooding Jr.’s attorney, said on Wednesday that his client has accepted to plead guilty to one of the charges. “He admits the charge that he kissed a waitress without her consent,” Rothman said. “All other allegations have been dismissed.” If Gooding Jr behaves well in the next six months, he will get off without a criminal record, the lawyer said.
Gooding Jr had his breakthrough with the film Boyz ‘n the hood from 1991. In 1997 he saw his rendition in Jerry Maguire be awarded an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor. He also played OJ Simpson in the miniseries American crime story.
