Miami (AFP) – American comedian Bob Saget, best known for his role on the 1980s-90s sitcom Home Party, was found dead in a Florida hotel room, local police said on Sunday.
Police were called to the Ritz-Carlton Orlando “regarding an unconscious man in a hotel room and” the man was identified as Robert Saget and pronounced dead on the spot, “the Sheriff’s Office tweeted. Orange County. “No signs of crime or drug use” were found, he said.
Bob Saget, 65, rose to fame playing Danny Tanner, a widowed father of three daughters, whose twins played by sisters Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, in the soap opera House Party.
The sitcom, which aired from 1987 to 1995, was the subject of a sequel on Netflix between 2016 and 2020, focusing on one of the girls, DJ Tanner.
Hours before the news of his death was announced, the actor was still tweeting about his pleasure in performing in Jacksonville.

Mr. Saget was married to Kelly Rizzo and had three daughters.
“Bob Saget was a comedian that we loved and who pushed the limits. He will be missed,” said the television channel Comedy Central on his Twitter account.
