The announcement was made by immunologist Anthony Fauci, during a meeting of the executive council of this UN agency in Geneva. America could not entrust this mission to a better ambassador: Dr. Fauci has been, over the months, the voice of reason and science, in Washington, in the face of Donald Trump’s denial and incoherence, to who have more than once been credited with the intention of parting with this too frank and, above all, too popular advisor.
