According to Russian President Vladimir Putin, the pipeline is 15 kilometers away. He said this after a visit by German Chancellor Angela Merkel to Moscow. There, Putin also promised that Russia would honor the contract with Ukraine for the transit of Russian gas, which runs until 2024. After that, new agreements must be made. Ukraine receives money for the transit of the gas.
