The countries of America reinforced this Wednesday their joint position on the relevance of their agri-food systems for trade and global food security, and to become part of the solution to the problems facing the world, such as the climate crisis.
“We have to continue working to consolidate the leadership of the Americas in various international forums. We are called to be guarantors of the world’s food and nutritional security,” said IICA Director General Manuel Otero during the Conference of Ministers of Agriculture of the Americas 2021, held virtually with IICA, in San José, as its main headquarters.
