America Expands Test Capacity for Monkeypox

TAGAR.id, Jakarta – The United States (US) has expanded its capacity to conduct tests for monkeypox (monkeypox) by sending test kits to five commercial laboratories.

Department Health The US, June 23, 2022, said the effort would “dramatically expand testing capacity across the nation and make testing more convenient and more accessible for patients and healthcare providers.”

Health care providers will be able to start using the laboratory to test for smallpox monkey in early July, said the Ministry of Health.

As of Tuesday (21/6), the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said there were 142 reports of monkeypox infections in the US spread across 24 states and Washington DC. The first case was reported to the CDC on May 17.

According to the Department of Health, the CDC has started sending monkeypox tests to five companies: Aegis Science, Labcorp, Mayo Clinic Laboratories, Quest Diagnostics and Sonic Healthcare.
