America declares its stand with Libya to resist foreign interference and restore its full sovereignty

The American Embassy in Libya announced that it stands with the Libyan people in their efforts to resist external interference, and supports their efforts to restore full sovereignty, based on the principles of the United States stipulated in its constitution.

The embassy said, in a tweet on its Twitter page on Friday: “The United States’ commitment to supporting the democratic aspirations of the Libyan people emerges from our own experience in resisting external interference, as we have been guided since the birth of our nation by the principles stipulated in the introduction to the Constitution of the United States.”
He said that the principles stipulated in the Constitution center on: “We, the people of the United States, desiring to establish a more perfect union, to establish justice, to ensure internal stability, to provide means of common defense, to promote the common good, and to secure the blessings of freedom for ourselves and for our future generations, draw up and establish this Constitution.” For the United States of America.
He continued: “We want the same thing for the Libyan people and we stand with them in their calls to achieve national unity, full restoration of sovereignty, and just development. For more details, please see our ten-year strategy to prevent conflict and promote stability.
The embassy republished a link to the US strategy to prevent conflict and promote stability in Libya, published on the US State Department website on March 24.
On March 14, US President Joe Biden transmitted new ten-year plans to Congress to implement the US strategy to prevent conflict and promote stability in a number of countries experiencing conflict, including Libya.
The launch of this initiative came days after US Assistant Secretary of State Barbara Leaf visited Libya and met with a number of officials, in order to support the elections and Batelli’s efforts, and to emphasize Wagner’s exit.
From the American point of view, the ten-year plan aims to prevent conflict and spread stability, and focus on local efforts to reduce violence in the south of the country as a basis for a long-term effort to support the work of the Libyan people to build a democratic system and a stable future, according to a Twitter account affiliated with the Near Eastern Affairs Department of the US State Department. .
In this context, Secretary of State Anthony Blinken confirmed that the strategy concerns priority partner countries, considering, in a statement published on the ministry’s website, that it is an important step in advancing efforts to achieve stability in areas affected by the conflict, and it is a step towards greater global peace.
He added: “They recognize that the most pressing challenges of our time are not limited to national borders. Through cooperation, we can address the underlying causes of violence and instability before conflicts erupt or escalate.”
The new American strategy applies to six African countries, including Libya: Mozambique, Benin, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Guinea, and Togo, in addition to Haiti from the Caribbean countries, and Papua New Guinea from the Oceania countries.
The US State Department statement considered that these plans together represent a commitment to reform how the United States deals with partners, adding that the strategy uses data and evidence to enlighten policy making and integrate the participation of the diplomatic, development, and security sectors.
The statement referred to organizing diplomatic efforts alongside foreign aid, including development programs and security assistance, to achieve that strategy.
At that time, the US Special Envoy to Libya, Ambassador Richard Norland, said that the ten-year plan submitted by the Joe Biden administration to Congress for countries in conflict is based on constructive partnerships and programs at the local community level that support the aspirations of the Libyan people to achieve stability, accountability, and responsible governance.
He added that this initiative confirms his country’s commitment to standing by the Libyan people and supporting progress towards a unified, democratically elected government that can provide public services and promote economic growth in all fields.
Two days ago, a delegation from the US Department of Defense, represented by the US Defense Attaché to Libya, Mark Amblom, landed in the capital, Tripoli, and discussed with the Chief of the General Staff of the Army, Muhammad Al-Haddad, the relations between the Libyan and American army and the possibility of developing them.
Al-Haddad also praised the role played by AFRICOM forces, which comes within the framework of the depth of the relationship between the two countries.
The United States of America praised what it described as the commitment of Al-Haddad and Abdel-Razzaq Al-Nadouri to reunify the military institution, during their participation in the African Chiefs of Defense Symposium in the Italian capital, Rome, hosted by the Commander of the American AFRICOM Forces, General Michael Langley.
The two parties recently met in Tripoli and Benghazi, and discussed ways to unify the military establishment and support the meetings of the 5+5 Military Committee to implement the ceasefire and remove foreign forces.
While the Chief of Staff of Haftar’s forces, Abdel-Razzaq Al-Nadhuri, discussed with the military attaché at the French Embassy in Libya and his accompanying delegation issues related to the development of the military institution.
In his office in Al-Rajma, in the presence of the Chiefs of Air and Naval Staff, he discussed several topics, including training their forces.
During the recent period, the United States increased its pressure on allies in the Middle East to expel the Russian Wagner Group from Libya and Sudan, according to regional officials who told the Associated Press.
The American efforts confirmed by officials coincide with widespread steps taken by the administration of US President Joe Biden against the group, which is linked to the Kremlin, by recently imposing new sanctions on it due to its expanding role in Russia’s war in Ukraine.
