An unusual situation arose this Wednesday, February 21, in the morning training session of the Colombian first division team, América de Cali, after a strong attack by African bees, also known as “assassins,” was recorded. , completely interrupting sporting activity and impacting the health of two players.

The incident occurred at the coffee club’s sports headquarters, resulting in five people being stung and two of them having to be treated and later transferred to a medical center after suffering allergic reactions.

The training was part of the preparation for the next match of América de Cali that will face the La Equidad team, which will take place on the night of this Thursday, February 22 at the Pascual Guerrero stadium, belonging to the eighth date of the Colombian soccer calendar.

When it was believed that the practice would develop without problems as usual, a swarm of bees surprisingly attacked a large part of the administrative staff and the professional soccer team present inside the training field.

Given the attack, help was immediately requested and the Cali Volunteer Fire Department was present at the scene to control the situation. “Our team of units deployed at the scene acted immediately, evaluating the situation and providing care to the affected people. After identifying a hive of bees, it was reported that five people suffered stings, being treated by our paramedics on site,” the authorities expressed in a statement on their social networks.

Regarding the two people who presented allergic reactions, the same statement detailed that they had to be transferred to a hospital. “Two of them, who are part of the administrative staff, were transferred to the Fundación Valle de Lili Clinic due to allergic reactions.”
