On the afternoon of this Saturday, América de Cali defeated Atlético Huila 0-6 as a visitor for the sixth date of the 2023 Women’s League, at the Guillermo Plazas Alcid stadium in the city of Neiva.
The match from the start showed good dynamics from both teams, but little by little the scarlets were taking possession of it with a lot of vertical play, especially on the left side with Diana Ospina and Gabriela Rodríguez.
At minute 11, the first of the game came after a cross from that same side by Catalina Usme, Mariana Muñoz arrived on the second palo, who finished off in two halves and put the visit on top.
Five minutes later, the ‘red devils’ returned to the scoreboard after a pass between the lines from Muñoz to Ospina, the midfielder assisted Catalina in the croissant, who took a powerful shot to the right post to make it 2-0 partial.
During the initial stage, the team led by coach Carlos Hernández kept order behind and continued to reach the rival goal with danger.
For the second half, the locals showed a slight improvement, where they no longer allowed the Americans to reach so clearly and the distribution of the game moved more to the middle of the field.
At minute 65, the ‘opitas’ were left with one less player due to the expulsion of Nancy Madrid for grabbing Leury Basanta’s hair.
In the end, América took advantage of the extra player on the field and a shower of goals came. At minute 80 and 89 with Elexa Bahr who came from the substitute bench. At 90+1 an own goal from Natalia Facundo and at 90+3 the final goal from María Fernanda Agudelo for the final 0-6.
On the next league date, América will host Medellín.
