Amélie Nothomb and Mohamed Mbougar Sarr in the first selection

The Renaudot Prize jury selected Amélie Nothomb for her novel First blood in his first selection and especially the Senegalese Mohamed Mbougar Sarr for The most secret memory of men, which already appears in those of the Femina, Goncourt and Medici awards. Of the sixteen authors selected in the category of novels, three others are present on the competing price lists. Anne Berest, who delves into the history of her Jewish family with Postcard, is also in those of Femina and Goncourt with this novel published by Grasset.

Christophe Donner was selected by the Medici jury for France goy, and Maria Pourchet on that of Goncourt, with Fire, a fiction on incest. For Amélie Nothomb, First blood, the 30th novel by this very popular author, is perhaps the opportunity to win an award, which was not chosen by Goncourt. The Renaudot on the other hand ignored Christine Angot, already retained on the lists of Fémina, Goncourt and Médicis. The Renaudot prize also presented on Thursday the list of the ten authors selected for its prize for the best essay.
