AMD’s locked Ryzen 7000 processors that are expected to be shown at CES early next year appear to have leaked their specs ahead of the unveiling.
It’s no surprise that AMD plans to release locked Ryzen 7000 processors soon. Processors without the X suffix have circulated in previous rumors and speculation, but it now appears that official AMD presentation images have found their way onto the internet.
These are three different processors whose specifications would have been leaked. Not entirely by chance, it concerns the support for DDR5 memory, PCI Express 5.0 and socket AM5 which applies to the three devices. The same also applies to the TDP value, which is listed as 65W for all processors.
First we have the Ryzen 5 7600 with six cores and twelve threads. This comes with up to a 5.1GHz clock rate, 36MB cache, and is meant to do battle against Intel’s Core i5-13600 and i5-12600. This processor comes bundled with the AMD Wraith Stealth processor cooler.
Stepping up we find the Ryzen 7 7700 with eight cores and 16 threads along with a clock frequency of up to 5.3GHz and 40MB of cache. This is intended to compare against Intel’s Core i7-13700 or slightly older Core i7-12700. Here we see AMD shipping their Wraith Prism LED equipped processor cooler which continues to be their most luxurious and capable model yet.
At the top of the hierarchy is the Ryzen 9 7900 with twelve cores and 24 threads. Here, the clock frequencies reach 5.4 GHz, and the amount of cache memory is 76 MB. This model is intended as a challenger to Intel’s Core i9-13900 and i9-12900. This too comes with the same Wraith Prism cooler as the Ryzen 7 7700.
The three processors are expected to be unveiled during CES 2023, which kicks off on January 2. Pricing for the Ryzen 5 7600 is $229, Ryzen 7 7700 is $329, and the flagship Ryzen 9 7900 is priced at $429 according to the leaked presentation image. AMD is also believed to unveil new X3D processors with stacked cache during the show. The start of next year can therefore be really processor-heavy.
