“AMD Vs Nvidia: Who’s Winning the Mid-Range and Entry-Level GPU Market Battle?”

Nvidia and AMD are once again battling for the hearts of PC gamers. This time the battlefield is the mid-range and entry-level GPU market. And according to the leak, there is a definite winner. One source called the launch of the RTX 4060 Ti “the worst I’ve seen”, stating that it “only sold 1/10th better than the RTX 4070 in launch week”. One of the distributors stated: “Actually, we have no problems moving stock of the 7600. The 4060 Ti is a different story…”.

AMD and Nvidia’s Q1 earnings reports reflect this change, with AMD’s gaming revenue almost on par with Nvidia’s. It may not sound so impressive, but it’s important to keep the context in mind. Nvidia has long been the gold standard for pixel performance and has dominated the market for over a decade. Not so long ago, AMD was considered nothing more than a brave underdog trying to overcome the king.

Although AMD has come out on top in this battle, it remains to be seen if they will prevail in this GPU generation war. One add-on board partner said they are “betting big on the 4060”. With the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 release date just around the corner, Nvidia must be hoping that better days are just around the corner.
