AMD seizes leadership in Asian processor markets | news

AMD increased its share in the Japanese consumer market to 67%, while Intel’s share fell to 33%. This was reported by Wccftech.

Three years ago, the situation was the opposite – in 2017, 84% of consumers bought Intel processors and only 16% preferred AMD products. Similarly, the market in South Korea has changed. There, the share of AMD rose to 60%. Statistics reflect only sales of CPU for desktop PCs. Among laptops, Intel still remains dominant, although AMD’s share in this segment of the Korean market has increased from 17% to 22% since the beginning of the year. According to analysts, by the end of the third quarter after the release of mobile Ryzen 4000, it will reach 25-30%.

Experts attribute the growth to the fact that AMD products have a much better price-performance ratio. Previously, Intel solutions at a higher price were significantly ahead of the competitor in terms of power, but the current generation of processors from AMD, especially in the most popular mid-range price category, is at least as good as, and in many cases even superior to Intel.
