“AMD Radeon RX 7600 vs Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 Ti: Benchmarks and Leaked Photos”

The 3DMark scores indicate where the Radeon RX 7600 will probably rank against mainstream GeForces. We also have new photos of the cards, according to which the manufacturers will build this model with designs taken from the RDNA 2 generation. But AMD is preparing a completely new reference design.

The GeForce RTX 4060 Ti was revealed last week and will go on sale this week. A day later, the competing Radeon RX 7600 should also be released, but there have been fewer leaks so far. But now we have photos of a reference model with a similar design to the RX 7900 XT/XTX cards, and data has also surfaced on how the new Nvidia and AMD cards score in the 3DMark tests, giving some idea of where exactly the Radeon RX 7600 will fit.

During the weekend, the Radeon RX 7600 received several news. For one thing, new card images have appeared. First, the Challenger and Phantom Gaming models from ASRock, but they use the same coolers that the company used on the RDNA 2 generation cards (Radeons RX 6650 XT and 6600 XT). The same will probably be the case with Asus, from which images of the Radeon RX 7600 ROG Strix and Dual cards appeared, but these cards again have the same coolers that the company used for the Radeon RX 6650 XT.

Tip: There are cheap next-generation Nvidia graphics: GeForce RTX 4060, GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 8GB and 16GB

The old design of non-reference cards, but there will also be a new reference card

It looks like card manufacturers aren’t putting nearly as much effort into this GPU as they are into Nvidia’s newly released graphics. However, it is possible that the reason could partly be technical. From previous images of Sapphire’s Radeon RX 7600 Pulse, it looked like this card has the exact same PCB as the previous Radeon RX 6600 XT Pulse – if the renders are anything to go by.

If this is confirmed, then perhaps the Navi 33 chip could be pin-compatible with the previous Navi 23, and so card manufacturers could simply start fitting this new RDNA 3 generation GPU into existing card designs. Then it would tempt them to also they saved by using the original cooler as well.

Conversely, AMD appears to have produced a new reference cooler design of its own, images of which have been obtained by VideoCardz. Not all models get such a design, but it was developed for the Radeon RX 7600. The design is in the same style as the Radeon RX 7900 XTX reference cooler, but the card only has two fans. And it is quite compact – the height does not exceed the blank by much, the thickness is probably two slots and the length of the card is less than 21 cm according to VideoCardz. The card is therefore even shorter than the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti Founders Edition (which is 24.4 cm).

VideoCardz writes that he is not yet aware of card manufacturers including this design in the offer (probably they will focus on cards with their own cooling, which, in the case of those cards following the RX 6600 / 6650 XT models, have been in production for a long time ). But these cards should appear in the reviews, so apparently AMD made a batch. It is possible that he will offer them in his own online store.

Performance shot according to 3DMark

The VideoCardz site also obtained performance data from the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti and the Radeon RX 7600 in various 3DMark tests from some indiscreet reviewers who already have sample cards. It should be data from several sources that are averaged, but be careful that this is not a strictly regular comparison that would need data from an identical test setup and software environment for both cards. For the time being, these numbers should only be taken as indicative, because theoretically, last-minute optimizations in the controllers can still appear on both sides.

According to VideoCardz’s data, the Radeon RX 7600 trails the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 8GB in the Time Spy tests, where it achieved only 80% (1440p) and 81% (4K) of its performance. In 3DMark Speed Way, which should depend on the performance in raytracing effects, which are slower on the RDNA 3 architecture, only 61% of the performance of the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti came out.

On the other hand, the Radeon RX 7600, which should probably be cheaper than the $399 GeForce RTX 4060 Ti, catches up to the performance of this higher card in the 3DMark Fire Strike tests running under DirectX 11. Here, according to VideoCardz, a score of 92% was achieved (1080p , FireStrike Extreme in 1440p) and even 97% (Fire Strike Ultra in 4K) of the RTX 4060 Ti 8GB graphics.

But again, take these results with a grain of salt for now. Legit reviews should hopefully be out this week – the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 8GB goes on sale on 5/24 and the Radeon RX 7600 should be released the day after 5/25.
