The Radeon RX 7600 will cost just over seven thousand, compared to the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti, the price is a third lower.
Shortly after the complete specifications of the Radeon RX 7600 were leaked to the Internet, the remaining missing information about this upcoming mainstream graphics card has already been published – namely, how much it will cost. And it sounds quite positive, because according to this still unofficial source, AMD will set the price even lower than the level of the GeForce RTX 4060 (without Ti), which is not expected to be released until July. Against the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti, the card would be a third cheaper.
The VideoCardz website reports that AMD has essentially announced to graphics reviewers at the last minute the new MSRP for this graphics card – it’s supposed to be $269, €299 in the Eurozone. In the Czech Republic, it would amount to 7150 CZK. This would be the price for a benchmark card, overclocked editions with fancier designs may as usual be priced a tad higher.
For a while it looked like the card could be priced exactly at the level of Nvidia’s announced GeForce RTX 4060 with AD107 chip ($299 / €329 / CZK 7899). In the end, however, AMD was a tenth lower. While Nvidia is starting to sell the slightly more powerful GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 8GB these days for $399 / €439 / CZK 10,499, in the end these cards from both companies will each target completely different price ranges.
This price was allegedly announced on Monday, but rumors about a lower price appeared a few days earlier – albeit mainly among YouTubers, where there could also be speculation. But it is likely that it was not a completely sudden decision and a price lower than $299 was considered for a long time and only the confirmation of this decision towards the media was left at the last minute.
Before this information, we didn’t have a specific leak giving the exact price (only information from stores that had various indicative prices posted, but which were apparently provisional shots). But according to VideoCardz, before this $269 discount, AMD was actually listing the price at $299 under an information embargo for a while, so for a while the higher amount was official (under an NDA).
The low price (probably partially made possible by the relatively small area of the chip combined with the relatively cheaper 6nm manufacturing process) could make these graphics a good choice for more affordable gaming computers and maybe even a bit of a spiritual successor to cards like the Radeon RX 570 and 580. But that will depend on how this GPU will perform. That should hopefully be clear on the 24th or 25th when the reviews should appear.
