AMD Radeon RX 6000 refresh with faster memory has been delayed until May – Computer – News

From refresh AMD’s RDNA 2 desktop graphics cards may not be released on April 20, but not until May 10, a reliable leaker says. The reason is unknown. The new cards are expected to have faster memory, and perhaps higher boost clocks and higher tbp.

Leaker Disclosuzen says to Videocardz that the three updated RDNA 2 cards will be introduced on May 10 and will all have a black design. In addition, the Radeon RX 6650 XT gets a new referencecooler, with two fans instead of one. Most custom coolers already had two fans, the site notes.

The Radeon RX 6750 XT also gets an extra fan and has three with the refresh. The Radeon RX 6950 XT also gets a cooler with three fans, although it is slightly larger and thicker than the RX 6750 XT cooler. Presumably these new reference cards will be available through AMD’s own web store, as is the case with the current Radeon RX 6000 video cards.

According to an earlier rumor, the three cards will have GDDR6 memory at 18Gbit/s, where the current video cards use 16Gbit/s memory. The Radeon RX 6950 XT gets a higher according to Videocardz total board power of 350W. That is 50W more than with the RX 6900 XT. Nothing is known yet about the power of the RX 6750 XT and the RX 6650 XT. In addition to the aforementioned refresh cards, the RX 6400 should also be released separately on May 10. Now that card is only available to OEMs.
