AMD Radeon 890M RDNA 3.5 integrated graphics outperforms NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 desktop graphics card in gaming tests

Information has already appeared about gaming tests of the iGPU Radeon 890M “RDNA 3.5” from AMD against Intel Arc Xe solutions in Meteor Lake processors. The iGPU has delivered impressive performance numbers while consuming much less power, and now TechEpiphany has shared the benchmark results of the iGPU Radeon 890M, completely unblocked, against desktop-class NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 graphics cards.

The same test platform was used here as last time, which included an ASUS VivoBook 16 laptop with AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 APU with 32GB of LPDDR5X-7500 memory. The GPU was fully released and ran at a TDP of 45 to 60 Watts. For comparison, we used an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D system with a GeForce GTX 1650 4GB desktop discrete graphics card.

Starting with performance tests, the AMD Radeon 890M “RDNA 3.5” iGPU showed results close to the GTX 1650:

  • In Devil May Cry 5 at 1080p (High), sometimes it matches and sometimes lags behind by about 5-10 FPS.
  • In God of War at 1080p (Original), the iGPU once delivered better performance and even outperformed the GTX 1650 in many cases.
  • In Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, the Radeon 890M leads the desktop graphics card at 1080p (High) resolution.
  • In Cyberpunk 2077 at 1080p (low), the AMD Radeon 890M “RDNA 3.5” iGPU was 45% faster than the GTX 1650.
  • In Robocop at 1080p (85% scaling/low), the iGPU was twice as fast, and in First Generation at 1080p (medium), the iGPU was 5-10% faster than the GTX 1650.
  • Forza Horizon 5 at 1080p (High) was another game where the RDNA 3.5 architecture on the iGPU was well ahead of the GTX 1650, scoring over 40%.
  • In Tomb Raider 2013, the Radeon 890M iGPU was slightly slower than the GTX 1650, but in Shadow of The Tomb Raider the iGPU was ahead.

The defects can be fixed with a future driver, since the RDNA 3.5 architecture is still relatively new. New tests further prove that AMD’s latest RDNA 3.5 iGPUs are great for mobile platforms like laptops.
