AMD processors are present on over 30% of user computers on Steam

This event marks a successful period for Ryzen CPUs

The results obtained through the research presented in the Steam, with information that details what hardware and software their players use, just reported great news for users of AMD: the company, with the success of processors Ryzen, managed to regain more than 30% of presence on the players’ computers on the platform.

It’s not the first time the AMD marked presence with this slice of participation in computer gamers; however, it had been a few years since its last appearance in such a significant way, above 30%, in the graphics published by the company. The result was obtained using data passed on in May 2021, and recorded an increase of 0.65% since the last period analyzed.

The positive result is not unexpected for the tech giant’s enthusiasts. For a few years, since the launch of its Ryzen processor line, constant improvements have been made possible for its buyers – whether with more competitive prices than competitors, or with really impressive high-performance options like the processors EPYC.

Regarding its share in the video card market, there was a small setback: the company is present in 16.2% of the analyzed machines. Previously, the result obtained was 16.3%. It is not a very relevant difference, but an improvement in these numbers is expected, if the AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution really establish yourself as a competitor at the height of the DLSS, Deep Learning Super Sampling, from Nvidia.

The technology is still at the beginning of its cycle, so its maximum potential will still be honed as these features mature. The big advantage of AMD’s implementation is that it will also be beneficial even on competitive graphics cards – on models that haven’t received the new features that were introduced in the GPU segment GeForce RTX.

It only remains to wait to see the outcome of the battles that AMD is waging with both Intel and Nvidia, in different segments. In any case, competition is always positive for the consumer.
