Last year, more than 150,000 visitors came to Las Vegas for CES 2020, and almost no one knew yet what direction the whole new year would take. The consequence is that CES 2021 will take place in a virtual form only from 11 to 14 January, but even so, companies should prepare for these days the presentation of fundamental innovations in anticipation of returning to normal. At the time of the pandemic, the fairs were otherwise rather ignored and therefore canceled, which Computex 2020 has also been affected. –

However, CES 2021 will not be ignored, after all, representatives of AMD and Intel will have their presentations, while NVIDIA will hold its own concurrent online event called GeForce RTX: Game On. And it does not matter whether or not it will be associated with CES 2021, in this case only the date of 12 January is important.

From the company NVIDIA we expect the introduction of at least one weaker desktop card GeForce, probably RTX 3060 with 12 GB of memory and maybe a version with 6 GB or some other. In addition, they should also be mobile versions of RTX cards 3060 to 3080, and thus the resulting laptops. According to the latest reports, the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti is not due to arrive until February, but it could also be mentioned.
Company Intel is certainly not going to launch Rocket Lake-S processors, which have already been confirmed several times at the end of March. However, they have boards with 500 Series chipsets, which will also be suitable for Comet Lake-S, so they can easily come to the market earlier if they are ready.
Gregory Bryant, head of the CCG (Client Computing Group) division, will then take the floor on January 11, who could also present the expected 8-core Tiger Lake-H. And if the above boards are introduced, it is logical to expect a speech at Rocket Lake-S.
In the end, we kept AMD, whose boss Lisa Su will have his speech at CES this year as well. It may not yet introduce the new weaker Radeons, the successor to today’s RX 5700, as they will be delayed, or rather not AMD will introduce them earlier than planned. It will be more of a new mobile (and possibly desktop) APU generation Cezanne, which should be supplemented by Lucienne (actually dusted Renoirs).
Then we could look forward to mentions of mobile Radeons with RDNA 2 or new Threadrips, or AMD could finally present its alternative to DLSS. He will need it as salt if ray tracing is to be useful on the new Radeons. But we’ll see, on January 12th.
