Ambulance driver evicted from Tour de France after collision with cyclist

Jungels was ridden from his bike to the Grand Colombier on the fifteenth stage when an ambulance passed him.

A spectator filmed the collision:

The 27-year-old Luxembourger himself had also caused a crash earlier in the stage. The Deceuninck – Quik-Step rider swerved to the side with his bike after riding at the head of the peloton. Without looking, Jungels knocked Colombian Sergio Higuita down.

Higuita got back on the bike, injured, but crashed again a little later because he was unable to brake properly due to the pain in his hand. The Education First rider had to give up.

Jungels was able to continue after he was run over by an ambulance. The Luxembourger is in 43rd place in the general classification. The Tour is over for the driver of the vehicle.
