The AFC Remscheid Amboss is looking forward to another season in the NRW Oberliga. To kick things off, the team headed by the new Amboss head coach Paolo Bizzarri will be traveling to the Wuppertal Greyhounds for the Bergisches Derby on April 30th. A week later, on May 7th from 3 p.m., the Amboss celebrates its home game against the Münster Mammuts in the Reinshagen stadium. The league starts the new year with the games Krefeld Revens against Münster Mammuts and Aachen Vampires against Dortmund Giants on April 23rd and 24th.
The other Amboss opponents in the season are Aachen Vampires and the newly promoted Dortmund Giants and Krefeld Ravens. The Gelsenkirchen Devils, relegated from the regional league, have decided to restart in the federation league, while the Siegen Sentinels have withdrawn their team at short notice and will not play in the premier league as reported. All games of the Sentinels were rated by the NRW state association AFCVNRW with 0:20 against wins. Thus, all other teams in the league start the season with two wins and 40:00 points.
We are looking for a promoter and a second relegator in addition to the Sentinels who have already been relegated. The Wuppertal Greyhounds and the Krefeld Ravens, who are planning to progress to the regional league, are the favorites for promotion. Both teams rely on four Americans in the squad. The Amboss wants to compete with the Mammuts, Giants and Vampires for a secure place in midfield and leave at least one team behind in order to be represented in the premier league again in 2023.
