Amber Heard Pays $1 Million to Johnny Depp After Public Trial: Final Chapter of 7 Year Battle

After about a year of a public trial that involved millions around the world, between Hollywood stars Johnny Depp and his ex-wife Amber Hurd, the latter paid the million dollars she owed to her ex-husband after the trial.

And a close source revealed that Amber Hurd paid one million dollars for Johnny Depp recently, according to the American “Fox Newsnews network.

The trial, which took place in Virginia for 6 weeks, ended in June 2022 with a $ 10.35 million award against Heard, accused of defaming Depp by writing an article in 2018 in which she referred to herself as a victim of domestic violence.

The court also awarded Hurd $2 million in compensation from her ex-husband.

Depp, 60, agreed to settle the case last December for $1 million, which was paid this month by the actress’s insurance company.

A source close to Depp said that he will divide the compensation equally between 5 charities.

Payment appears to be the final chapter in a protracted divorce and subsequent legal battles that have lasted over 7 years.

Depp and Heard married in 2015, and separated the following year, amid allegations of abuse and infidelity.

News of the payment and the end of this difficult chapter comes as Heard, 37, tries to restart her faltering acting career.

The actress is scheduled to appear at the 69th Taormina Film Festival in Sicily, Italy, on June 24, to attend the world premiere of her new movie, “In the Fire,” US media reported.

It will be Heard’s first appearance on the red carpet to promote a film since the trial made the two stars’ personal lives public.

After the trial, Hurd moved with her daughter to the Spanish capital, Madrid, and in a previous press interview, she expressed her love for Spain and her plan to live there.
