She gave a first interview since the verdict, answering questions from Savannah Guthrie, of the NBC network. The full exchange is due to air on Tuesday, but a snippet was shared on Monday.

Amber Heard attacks in particular the treatment which was reserved for him on social networks during the trial.

“I don’t take it personal, but even if you believe I deserve all the hate and attacks I’ve received, even if you believe I lied, you can’t look me in the eye and tell me that you think this case has been treated fairly on social networks, ”claims the actress.

Although in deep disagreement with the verdict, Amber Heard refuses to criticize the work of the members of the jury. According to her, they were fooled by the charisma of Johnny Depp.

“I don’t blame them. I understand that he is a beloved personality and that people feel they know him. He’s a fantastic actor,” she says.

Asked about the possibility that the jury was objective and simply did not believe her version of the facts, the actress believes that she had no real chance of convincing the jurors.

“After three weeks of testimonies claiming that I was not credible, how could they have believed a single word of what I said?” Asks Amber Heard.

After six weeks of debate, the seven jurors of the court of Fairfax, in the United States, concluded on June 1 that the ex-spouses had defamed each other through the press. But they awarded more than 10 million dollars to the star of “Pirates of the Caribbean”, against only 2 million for that of “Aquaman”.

The trial, highly publicized and broadcast live on television, revealed the lackluster private life of the two Hollywood celebrities, causing a rampage of insulting messages towards the 36-year-old actress on social networks.

Johnny Depp was suing his ex-wife for defamation, who described herself in a column published by the Washington Post in 2018 as “a public figure representing domestic violence”, without naming her ex-husband.

He was seeking $50 million in damages, saying the platform had destroyed his career and reputation. Amber Heard had counter-attacked and demanded the double.

According to her lawyer, Elaine Bredehoft, the actress will appeal the judgment.
