It has now been three years since the accident, and in a podcast about grief, “Dear Media’s Meaning Full Living”, Amber recently opened up about her life today, and not least about what it was like to tell her two other children that her little brother theirs was dead. It reports People.

– Very honest
In the podcast, Amber said that Lincoln and London, who are now eight and ten years old, witnessed River’s accident.
– We had to be very honest from the beginning. We went home with the intention of being very honest… We told them that River was without oxygen for too long. They did everything they could, but “Bubbie” died. And then we let them process their feelings and told them that no matter what they felt… it was OK, she says in the podcast.
The 40-year-old emphasized that they also let the children see that she and Granger mourned. The couple also made the choice to share much of their experiences on social media.
There were many times it was not nice… sobbing, screaming in the car, banging on the steering wheel, I sat by his bed, held his blanket and cried until there were no more tears left. It was where I was and that’s what’s real, and I do not think people talk about it. I was just trying to show the reality of pain and sorrow, and it’s not easy. It’s OK to feel those feelings… But you can not stay there, you can not be stuck in that place.
– I was so grateful to have Maverick and I was so full of joy, but I was also very sad because we did not have Riv (River editor’s note). But then we would not have had Maverick if we did not lose Riv. That’s a weird thing to think about.
