Charlotte Sena (9) was last seen at 6:15 p.m. Saturday evening in Moreau Lake State Park in Saratoga County, New York. The nine-year-old was camping with her family when she disappeared.
A large-scale search operation has been launched for Sena, so far without success.
The state police in New York believe the girl is in danger, and on Sunday morning sent out a so-called Amber Alert for her. Amber is an acronym for “America’s Missing: Broadcast Emergency Response.”
– The child was taken under circumstances that lead the police to believe that the person concerned is in imminent danger of serious injury and/or death, it says in the request.

Shortly before she was reported missing, Sena should have cycled around the park with some family friends, before she left to cycle on her own.
Fifteen minutes later – when she did not appear again – the family launched a search for her. However, at 6.45pm they found her bike, but no sign of Sena.
Casts doubt on witness
Two minutes later, the mother called the emergency number to report her missing – and by 7 p.m. the police were on the scene, reports NBC News. Over 100 people and 75 police officers have since yesterday taken part in the search, in addition to dogs, drones, boats and underwater searchers.
Now the family is asking for tips that can help find the nine-year-old.
– We just want her to return home safely, as every parent would want. No tip is too small, please call if you know anything at all,” the family said in a statement to the channel.
Sena was last seen wearing an orange Pokemon shirt, dark blue pants, black crocs and a gray bike helmet.
