The human rights ambassador of the Netherlands will arrive in Guatemala to meet with different sectors and learn about the current situation of the Central American nation.
The Embassador Wim Geerts He will arrive in Guatemala this Tuesday and will have a two-day agenda in the country, according to the Netherlands embassy this Monday.

Geerts will meet with officials of the current Government, civil society organizations and activists. This is to find out what the current situation is regarding respect for human rights in Guatemala.
According to the statement from the Dutch embassy, Ambassador Geerts’ central objective is to remain in a “constructive dialogue with Guatemala.”
“The priority is to ensure respect for the human rights of the most vulnerable groups”added the Dutch embassy.
The arrival of the Dutch ambassador occurs in the midst of a political crisis in Guatemala due to a judicial intervention in the results of its elections held on June 25 and August 20.
