The iPhone 16 was just revealed, but that doesn’t mean its predecessor, the iPhone 15, is already obsolete. It is even a good option to consider since at the moment, it is on sale for the French Days on Amazon: 749 euros instead of 969 euros.
Apple recently presented its new range of smartphones, the iPhone 16. While many fans of the Apple brand jump on it as soon as it is released in stores, others prefer to turn to the manufacturer’s former flagship, the iPhone 15, to save money. And, speaking of savings, the French Days allow to pay 220 euros less.
The strong points of the iPhone 15
- A very bright 6.1-inch panel
- A good main photo sensor
- Un port USB-C
Launched at 969 euros, the iPhone 15 is today available on promotion at 749 euros on Amazon. We also find the iPhone 15 Pro at the reduced price of 987 euros instead of 1,229 euros.

A beautiful design that makes a difference
While the iPhone 14 was quite stingy in terms of physical changes, the iPhone 15 was obviously one of renewal. Disappearance of the notch in favor of the now famous Dynamic Island, which offers practical interactions, slight rounded chamfers on the aluminum edges… The iPhone 15 overall has a really nice design. Handling this compact smartphone is still as pleasant as ever.
Yes, this iPhone is compact, since its screen measures “only” 6.1 inches. The latter also features an ultra-bright OLED panel which can reach peaks of up to 2,000 nits in direct sunlight; few references do better on the market, that’s saying something. Let’s move on to one of the big flaws of this iPhone: its refresh rate stuck at 60 Hz, while the Pro models are entitled to 120 Hz ProMotion. For the price of this iPhone, this is difficult to accept.
Big power under the hood
The iPhone 15 makes up for it with the power delivered by its A16 Bionic chip, capable of running all tasks without slowing down. This processor also works wonders in gaming: for example, the very greedy Genshin Impact runs like a charm at 60 FPS with all settings pushed to maximum. On the other hand, beware of heating. On the photo side, the smartphone is equipped with a 48 Mpx sensor for wide-angle and a 12 Mpx sensor for ultra-wide-angle. The first allows in particular, as on Android smartphones, to do pixel bining. This main sensor is really effective, and the ultra-wide-angle can largely be improved.
Finally, in terms of autonomy, count on a good day and a half of use. For charging, the iPhone 15 has a USB-C port, but this remains limited to 20 W. For really fast charging, we will return, therefore. Also note that wireless charging via MagSafe is upgraded to Qi 2.0, for greater compatibility.
